The store is coming to us!! Visit the Cynthia Rowley ‘Shop on Wheels’ starting tomorrow in the parking lot at Scottsdale Fashion Square at Camelback and Scottsdale Road from Friday, May 7th to Friday, May 14th, from 10am-8pm daily and 11am-6pm on Sunday.
The Shop on Wheels is a shipping truck converted into a sleek Cynthia Rowley store, with hardwood floors, a fitting room, printed-fabric wall coverings and Lucite fixtures. It carries the entire range of items in the Cynthia Rowley collection—clothing, shoes, bags, eyewear, jewelry, legwear and more. The Shop on Wheels cruises the country, stopping at boutiques, private homes on appointment and surprise locations – including Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Miami. Shoppers can follow the mobile store on Twitter and the Cynthia Rowley blog, or call or email to schedule a Cynthia Rowley party in their own driveway.
Check out www.cynthiarowley.com to view their current and past collections. I’ll be looking for this Orange Taffeta Shirt dress. Shirt dresses are an easy choice for our hot summers…

Also, loving this color and design of the Secret Garden Dress.

And this one. A good basic dress, easily dressed up or down. Layer with a cardigan to cover your arms for work or to keep from freezing inside an air-conditioned environment this summer. Love the belt too! If you’ve got an hourglass figure like me, a belt is the way to go to accentuate your little middle and play up your curves.

I’m thinking I’ll stop by around 3 pm tomorrow. If you’re there, find me!

My darling friend and stylist, Jill DeAndrea of The Impeccable Eye, is hosting another estate jewelry sale this weekend just in time for Mother’s Day at her Scottsdale showroom. If you’re looking for something unique, perhaps antique, stop by this weekend. Here’s the link to her last estate sale with some examples of what you may find (including the fleur-de-lis ring I’m saving for): The Imeccable Eye Jewelry Sale.

I’m at the gas station today filling up my car when a car full of teenagers drive by and the big mouth driver shouts to me, “Eat something! You look hungry!” Wow! Gotta love our kids! They tell it like it is…
I’m taken back that some young stranger could see that I’m a little empty today though smartly put together in my favorite lavender dress, dark shades and fancy shoes. But I’ve realized she’s exactly right – I’ve been giving too much of myself for quite sometime in a few draining areas. I’ve forgotten about my boundaries and my limits and that it’s okay to respect both. And I find it a little ironic that all this transpired at the gas station while filling my cute, sparkly red Cube’s tank. Making sure it’s full to the brim, admittedly topping off. Just to make sure she’s happy to get me where I want to go. I think that loud mouth kid was just the verbal slap in the face I needed to fill up my own inner reservoir – to fill my belly with love, patience, kindness, rest, inspiration, exercise, conversation, art, beauty, healthy food, chocolate and all my favorite things that nourish my spirit to get me where I want to be. I guess you could say the trend for me right now, spiritually and emotionally speaking…thin ain’t in – full is.
So that’s what I’ve decided to do. Rekindle that inner fire and passion deep down in my belly and soon it will radiate outward, maybe it’s already started to. As best I can, bravely ditch the old, stale and sometimes false habits of the “last season” me to create a more authentic, on-trend version of myself by trusting the gentle, cleansing and healing process of the Universe. And taking the time to notice the little miracles of love and happiness that happen along the way. Maybe it’s your time to buy into this new trend I’m proposing. Maybe it’s not. Maybe when I’m at the party store this weekend filling up balloons for my son’s 3rd birthday some other kid will yell at me, “Hey, get a boob job Lady!” and all this raving will be replaced with rantings about my post-nursing shrinkage, gel bra inserts and interviews with Scottsdale’s finest plastic surgeons. I guess we’ll just have to see how this all plays out…xoxo
I would like to dedicate this Mother’s Day week posting to my gorgeous mom for raising a big mouth kid of her own and to my dear friend and mentor Dr. Kathleen Hosner of www.fullbellyonline.com.

You know what’s great about a student fashion show? Obviously not the lighting as evident in my dark pictures, but the energy and creativity of the young, inspired designers. They’re so hopeful and bold. As you’ll hopefully see in the following pictures. The students showed over 250 pieces in the show and the audience was packed. What was also intriguing about the show for me is that it demonstrated the evolution of a designer from beginner to graduate – the garment construction, the fabrics, the overall concept – they grow and evolve with the students as they do. Enjoy the few pics here today!! Kudos to the Fashion Focus Club, students and everyone involved! xo
