So I go to the dentist today. No big deal. Having my ancient silver fillings replaced with composites for lots of different reasons. Super excited to see just pearly white when my big mouth is wide open, which is pretty often, right?!

Four hours later, the right side of my face is huge from the quick shot of novacaine. Dr. C says not to worry, but I’m freakin’!!!  Tonight is the Sex & The City Soiree and Fashion Show at the W Hotel and my face is all wonky! What to do? What can I do? What would Carrie do?……….go shopping.

Now five hours later, after a quick stroll down the shops on Mill Avenue and a few fabulous purchases, I feel better. More relaxed. Here’s what I bought for tonight from Divaz Boutique…

So now I’ve got a great, comfortable little outfit to distract from the drool seeping out the side of my mouth. Planning to pair this little romper with some strappy shoes and dark smokey eyes to further divert from my crooked, slightly painful smile. I feel better. A little shoptimism is all I needed today to calm down and carrie on.

I can’t tell you how impressed I was with the Rickie Gonzales “En Paz” Collection for Fall 2010. I was lucky enough to be one of the 100 or so people invited, including R&B singer CeCe Peniston, the 2008 World Raquetball Champion Rhonda Rajisch and my dear friend the fabulous Corbin Chamberlin.  Well, I could probably tell you how much I enjoyed the clothes and the positive energy of the show, but I would rather just show you! The “En Paz” runway show last weekend marked the beginning of a little break for Rickie. He’s taking some time off to continue his fashion design education as well as pursue his dream of landing a spot on Bravo TV’s “The Fashion Show.” What a great example – never stop learning, work had to perfect your skills and be brave enough to pursue your dreams.  Good luck Rickie! xo
