SHOES FOR YOUR BOOTY!

Footwear is going beyond your actual feet these days. There’s a few shoe companies out there designing footwear to tone your tush and stems with every step. If you’re crunched for time, hate going to the gym or just plain lazy, maybe it’s time to try one of the following…

REEBOK EASYTONE $119

EasyTone

The average retail price is $119, but you can find them on Zappos.com for around $99. I’m tempted to purchase when I saw this ad. That’s definitely the booty I’m striving for! They’re quite expensive for fitness shoes, but much cheaper than a gym membership and a $90 an hour trainer. Reebok claims their soles incorporate stability ball technology that encourages instability to force your leg muscles to adapt and tone. My sister-in-law just found a pair in town after searching 6 stores today! Waiting to hear if she’s sore tomorrow! haha!

FITFLOPS “WALKSTAR” $49.95

FitFlops

FitFlops on victoriasecret.com

The FitFlop definitely is focusing on functionality and leaving fabulosity in the dust! Not the prettiest things for your feet, but more affordable and practical during a hot AZ summer. The colorful pairs, such as the above, are much cuter than the brown or black ones.  Great sale on VictoriaSecret.com right now for $35. Make sure you keep your toes pretty and polished – your feet need all the help they can get while wearing these clods! www.fitflops.com

MBT SHOES – THE ANTI-SHOE! $244.95

MBT SHOES

Nordstroms.com

Completely ugly, super expensive and reviewers claim they are totally worth it! My last choice in firming footwear based on their looks alone, but wearers claim they work magic to strengthen even your ankles and improve balance by simulating walking through sand barefoot. Check them out at nordstroms.com.

I just started my New Year’s workout regime and thinking about incorporating a pair of the EasyTone’s in February. By next month, I’ll start freaking out about the impending bikini season and be willing to spend the $100 bucks. And though none of them are super attractive, hopefully you’ll be staring at my fantastic tush and not my ugly shoes! :)

ELIZA MAGAZINE MOVES TO TOWN!

Eliza

ELIZA Magazine’s Founder/Editor-in-Chief, Summer Bellessa, recently moved to the Valley from Los Angeles. I had the great opportunity to meet her at Scottsdale Fashion Week and to find out more about ELIZA and her move…

ELIZA is a fashion magazine focusing on the sexy, classy and covered-up modern woman that describes itself by saying, “We continue to pick up the scent of fashion and modesty and deliver it to your door season to season.” The publication and its focus on modesty has been mentioned in Newsweek, The Huffington Post, Good Morning America and more about its role in the “modest movement.”

Why did you decide to relocate here to the Valley? Mostly for personal reasons.

Are you planning to incorporate the local industry in ELIZA? Yes, we are open to shooting on location here and featuring as much talent as we can.

When did you start the magazine? ELIZA has been in print for almost 3 years.

Is it available in town yet? The easiest way to get the magazine is to subscribe at www.elizamagazine.com.

You are the Founder, but did you start the magazine with investors or another media group behind you? No, just me and a group of talented freelancers. Awesome!

Who is your favorite couture designer? Jason Wu and MillyWho is your favorite everyday designer? H&M, cheap and chic.

Who is your dream interviewee? Cate Blanchett. She is one of my role models.

What do you predict for the fashion future of Phoenix? With smaller markets it’s easy to predict – look at what LA is doing, which looks to New York for inspiration. Trickle down fashionomics.

Any suggestions to local fashionistas? The most fashionable people beat to their own drum. Don’t be a follower; be inventive. Instead of checking out the mall, check thrift stores or learn to sew.

More about ELIZA Magazine from their website…

ELIZA Magazine is created for women who want to be stylish, sexy, and engaged in the world while retaining high standards in dress, entertainment, and lifestyle. In a media culture that frequently objectifies and commercializes women and their bodies, ELIZA strives to provide an alternative to the current mainstream media that emphasizes sex and skin in order to push products or sell magazines.

I WANT WANG AND WANG WANTS YOU!

I would die for this! In fact, I might just apply to see what response I get. But if you would die for this and could move immediately to New York, apply too! So that the rest of us here could envy you!
