ABOUT FACE BOUTIQUE MOVES TO NEW DIGS!

aboutface

Have you been to the new About Face Boutique in Scottsdale? Owner Devy Walker recently relocated, and…upgraded, her designer discount boutique to 10636 N. 71st Way, Scottsdale. Same great designer pieces at fantastic prices, but the ambiance of the new, larger boutique is that of a luxe shopping lounge.

Here’s a look inside the new digs…

While I was at About Face chatting with Devy and Patricia, I learned about the latest Tom Kish 2-hour Facial now available at the boutique.  This is my dream facial! Tom Kish, a Hollywood skin specialist, has referred to this as a complete “boot camp” for the face and claims it revitalizes your skin. I CAN’T WAIT TO TRY THIS! This is my TOP PICK for a special Valentine’s treat.

The Tom Kish facial includes: Microdermabrasion, de-incrustation, extractions, facial hair removal, Chinese & Ayurvedic medicines, Galvanic treatment, Dead Sea & Collagen Masque, Hydroquinone (bleaching) and a paraffin finish! And an after facial bonus -  a free makeup lesson! WOW!

Stop in the new location or check out www.abface.com for more info! And tell them I sent you!

“GEOFFREY BEENE – INSIDE OUT” AT PHOENIX ART MUSEUM WEDNESDAY

beenetrapezeGeoffrey Beene: Inside Out – Wednesday, February 3 at 7 p.m.

Dennita Sewell, curator of fashion design, takes an in-depth look at Beene’s understanding of human anatomy and how he applied his own design principals to cutting and shaping fabric. Illustrated examples of the interior of some of the works in “Geoffrey Beene: Trapeze” show how their construction relates to the human form.

The talk is followed by the short film “The Geoffrey Beene Scholar Award”Geo, which features interviews with Mr. Beene about his educational initiative with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Join us for Q&A with Ms. Sewell after the talk and screening.

Grace Mirabella Cahan and Jade Hobson, originally scheduled to speak this evening, are unable to attend. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Two sorority sisters, Ali Matthews and Meghan Maxwell, created Soroyalty in 2008. The ladies are Kappa Alpha Theta alumni from ASU. Since the beginning, their goal is to create a feminine and eye catching line of clothing and accessories ranging from t-shirts to tote bags to beach towels, all customized for each sorority.

“Our favorite part is sitting down with a sketch book at the beginning of every season and drawing out all of our designs ourselves,” said Matthews. The designers’ newest collection introduced ice cream inspired colors including orange, strawberry and lime sherbert. It’s glamorous, girly and fun!
