Aimee has literally been on all sides of the camera in her own personal life and professional career. She’s a former model and photographer who now discovers and manages the careers of over 100 Phoenix models and actors. Aimee says she opened S.I.M. Agency in 2004 because of her love of fashion and style, being involved in the creative process of running a modeling and talent agency and her love of taking charge!!  Here’s Danielle one Aimee’s most sought after fashion models, who has booked shoots for Abercrombie & Fitch, Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus and modeled at New York Fashion Week.  Wow! She’s gorgeous!!

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the gorgeous models from S.I.M. in local fashion shows including Xavier Prep’s “Dream” in March and last weekend at the Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s “Eat, Drink & Be Pretty” show for Dillard’s.  Make sure to check out the Spring/Summer 2009 edition of “Runway” Magazine featuring an 18-page spread of S.I.M.’s lovely models coming to local bookstores on April 28.

What’s next for Aimee and S.I.M. Agency?? Possibly opening another modeling and talent agency in Los Angeles, again! Yes AGAIN!! Aimee Sugar is as smart, driven and capable as she is sweet!! If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a professional model or actor, click S.I.M. Agency for more information about the agency and submissions.

Marlow Boneay DeVonne – Model of the Month

marlow

I had a little chat with the beautiful Marlow and here’s what she said about her career as a model…

I love my job! I have been modeling for a year and it’s gone by so fast! I am represented by S.I.M. ARIZONA, IKON New York, Campbell Agency Dallas and MMA Philadelphia.

What the best thing about modeling
The people you meet in the industry – Make-up artists, hair designers, clothing designers, jewelry designers, painters, photographers and other beautiful male and female models, etc. You are always surrounded by fun, creative people. It’s the best feeling when you work with a great team. The photo’s speak for themselves!

What’s the most challenging aspect of being a model…
Modeling is not always as easy as it looks and you’re always being critiqued – how tall you are, how buff or thin you need to be, how perfect your nose is and how blue yours eyes are and so on! I have been told many times that I’m too short, too thin and my nose is a very …”unique”!! Thankfully, that doesn’t stop me from making money or creating fabulous photographs!
I am a confident model and I am smart enough to know that modeling is not always about being pretty, tall and perfect. You have a “look” that you represent and you work with it. When you model you use not only your face, but your body and emotions. Its about the product, feeling and whatever it is that you are trying to capture. Modeling is a once in a life time job and I am very blessed to work in the industry!

A Fabulous Phoenician – Emily

Meet Emily, a.k.a. Birdie! We’ve been friends since high school and I’ve always admired her fearless and sophisticated retro-style. Here’s a few pictures of her favorite looks and what she has to say about her fashion sense…

Tres Chic!

Tres Chic!

I love to shop at antique malls. I frequent them for my interior design clients but while I’m there I get to find little treasures for myself; mostly hats, purses, scarfs, shoes and the occasional blouse. But for the majority of the time I love American Apparel, Urban Outfitters and, of course…Forever 21 (you can’t beat their prices or the fact that they are great at staying up with all the latest and greatest trends). Buffalo Exchange is great, as well, especially for fun vintage clothing.

As far as designers go, I don’t really watch for one designer or another nor do I really know many of their names or collections (embarrassingly enough a girl once told me that she loved my YSL bag…I had no idea what she was talking about! I had picked it up at an estate sale for $5. She “kindly” informed me that she meant Yves Saint Laurent (whom I had not heard of.) :) . But I will say that I am greatly influenced by fashion icons throughout history; Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Twiggy, Eddie Sedgwick…I could go on and on. To me it is more about the the look than the label.”

This 5’10″ blonde beauty from FORD/Robert Black is making headlines in the fashion industry.  She modeled for 6 New York Fashion Week presentations, was featured on www.teenvogue.com and is the current face of www.doucetteduvall.com.  Here’s what the Daily Duo on www.theones2watch.com recently said about Jeanne,

“The coolest person out of Scottsdale, Arizona since Steven Spielberg, Jeanne Johnston has an almost sci-fi beauty. The discovery of Betsy Schrader from Ford/Robert Black Agency, Jeanne is currently in New York with Ford Models for her debut show season. With her white blonde hair, wide eyed gaze and versatility, Jeanne is any client’s dream!”
