So, I thought I was cool when I got my first iPhone 3G six months ago, but I discovered last night that just having the phone without a cool case adorned with Swarovski crystals is sooo last minute.

Meet Phoenix resident The Technology Starlet – the blog that mixes tech geek with fashionistas! Founder Tierra M. Wilson’s mission is to find the hottest, most fashionable gadgets and accessories for the fashion-forward geek.

Check it out the blog here at Techstarlet.

My Pet Peeve – No Refunds

6074

I don’t understand why some boutiques and stores do not offer cash refunds. At some point or another, we’ve all fallen victim to the “No Refunds – Store Credit Only” scenario. I often avoid stores because of this policy.

Today, I finally got around to using my store credit slip at a boutique in Tempe.  It’s not easy for me to go shopping anymore since my toddler has decided not to sit in his stroller – EVER!  Anyway, at the register the saleswoman told me they couldn’t accept my credit since it expired!!! I had to throw away $28 bucks because they wouldn’t give my money back to me in the first place!! Not happy :(

I have two points to my rant today…

1. Check the expiry date of any store credit slips you may have buried in your wallet ASAP!

2. If you don’t think you can use your credit before it expires, don’t throw that money away!  Email Fashion Phoenix at kira@fashionphoenix.com and we’ll post it for sale on our site.

Tanya Spencer – Stylist

Behind the glitz and glamour of our favorite celebrities are the people that put the pieces of their fabulous puzzle together – the stylist.  Only the lucky, celebrity or not, are born effortlessly chic and fabulous. The unlucky (like Me!) are trained on fabulosity by a professional.

One such local professional is Tanya Spencer of Una Bella Boutique in Scottsdale.  As a stylist, she pushes personal shopping to the next level by evaluating your current image, body type, your “assets”, personal comfort level and current wardrobe to help you dress for the best possible you! Whether for an special event or to improve your everyday personal image, Tanya can put the pieces of your fabulous puzzle together!

A consultation with Tanya starts with your body type – what fits best on you, what is comfortable for you and a constructive critique of your current style.  Second, Tanya will literally go through your closet and compile your “staple” pieces that will be the foundation of your new wardrobe.  Finally the fun – shopping for trendy pieces and accessories that pull your new look together!

When you think about the time and money we often waste on clothing that doesn’t fit or flatter us, perhaps investing in a style coach will avoid the fashion waste.

Tanya’s Fashion Faux Pas…

1. Don’t match your bag & shoes.  Mix it up!

2. Don’t go overboard.  No need for a ring on every finger.  Less is always more.
