I was rolling through Target in Scottsdale at The Pavilions and came across new items for the Converse One Star line of casual dresses, button-up shirts and shorts. Of course, when you’re not looking for anything, you find a million fabulous things!!
Here are the pieces I bought. Perfect for summer bbq’s, 4th of July picnics and more…

Converse One Star Twisted Dress $34.99. Cotton, blue & white striped with matching ribbon belt.
Pair this Converse One Star Twisted dress for $34.99 with oxfords for a casual day look (above) or dress it up like me on Saturday night with some heels and this fun necklace I found by Erickson Beaman $49, in the jewelry case also at Target…

The Erickson Beamon Bubble necklace $49
I also picked up these Converse One Star Bermuda shorts in True White $24.99. These had a better fit for me than any of the Mossimo brand shorts famously found at Target. I love their lightweight 100% cotton fabric and they’re a great length for a mommy like me. But, choose your knickers wisely! I’m tempted to buy them in every color for the summer (khaki and navy). Again, great with white oxfords. I picked up the Merona White Oxfords for $14.99 to go with my new Converse dress and shorts.

I stopped into one of my favorite boutique’s last week and made one of the most ridiculous purchases in my personal history of shopping. I was in a bad mood, irritated and thought a little “retail therapy” would cheer me up. Interestingly, Wikipedia says this about retail therapy, “Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as ‘comfort buys’”. So here is my comfort buy…

The Gun Necklace
What?? A gun!! Certainly everyone is entitled to have a bad day and need comforting. But violence, even of the fashion-kind, is never the answer. I’ve been thinking (of course!), is this purchase symbolic? Of my attitude towards this crappy economic climate? Do I need this trinket to protect myself from the fashion dramas that seem to keep finding me? Am I a fashion-loving thug ready to bust a blogger’s “cap” in those wearing the wrong shoes or mom jeans? I’ve heard that singer Rhianna often wears a similar gun necklace and recently had multiple guns tattooed on her upper body. Perhaps a little ironic with the violence surrounding her life! Regardless of the reasoning behind this stoopid purchase, I’m taking it back. I don’t need negativity hanging around my neck.

Rhianna and her new gun "tat"
Instead, I’m looking for something positive. An accessory that represents me and my fashion attitude – Wonder Woman Cuffs! With their shiny gold luster and ability to deflect negativity, the cuffs are the perfect accessory of positivity! And sure to defend me against future bad attitudes and hopefully, more bad purchases.

Wonder Woman
Happy Thursday! Have a wonderfully positive day!

The pants - the belt = annoying
This is soo annoying!! This past weekend I went to a pool party and wore my favorite sheer, black cover up pants I bought last year at Triangle’s Bikini Shop. As I grabbed them off the floor of my closet to wash, I accidentally pulled out the drawstring!!! Uggghhh!!
Now what?! How the heck am I going to get the drawstring back in? Why couldn’t it be stitched in in the first place? They are completely useless to me and most without the drawstring because the material is too silky to hold in place. And it’s obvious that the belt loops are empty! I’m going to try to unravel a wire hanger and use that to thread the belt back in. But if you know of another way, please let me know.
