You know what’s great about a student fashion show? Obviously not the lighting as evident in my dark pictures, but the energy and creativity of the young, inspired designers. They’re so hopeful and bold. As you’ll hopefully see in the following pictures. The students showed over 250 pieces in the show and the audience was packed. What was also intriguing about the show for me is that it demonstrated the evolution of a designer from beginner to graduate – the garment construction, the fabrics, the overall concept – they grow and evolve with the students as they do. Enjoy the few pics here today!! Kudos to the Fashion Focus Club, students and everyone involved! xo

I love, loved the Katherine Story collection, as part of the Spring Into Fashion show on Friday at The Valley Ho. The flowing fabric, the effortless chic looks, the bold colors and fabrics enhanced with the makeup artistry by MB York was just as cool as the waters of Caribbean. In fact, that’s all I could think of when watching the show. I was mezmerized…I wish I was walking barefoot on the white sand beaches of Turks & Caicos in a Katherine Story.
Enjoy the pics. Check out her collection and order directly from her LA showroom at www.katherinestory.com.

The sexy back. Love it.

This was my absolute favorite! It's hard to see the sparkly detail, but it was amazing!!

Had such a fun time at Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s Eat, Drink and Be Pretty Party on Friday night! Thank you to MMPR.
I certainly had fun enjoying three of my favorite things – eating, drinking and being pretty – but a little disappointed in the fashion show portion of the event. The runway was dark for both the swimsuit show and the Moody Blues show and my pictures sadly turned out pretty terrible. I preferred the bright, fun multiple shows of last year with two runways, lots of different boutiques and more. But you can decide. Check out the following pics from last week’s event and compare with the link to last year: Eat, Drink & Be Pretty 2009.

A glow from the blacklight on the runway.

Here's my friend hairstylist Luis Solis with one of his models from the show.

I just love this yearly event, produced by students and staff at Kohler Academy to benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit. This year’s “Around the World 2010″ raised $10,000 – over $8,500 from ticket sales and sponsors including yours truly – then a last minute donation from the Kohler Family, totaling 10 G’s. So generous!!
Around The World 2010 is a hair and makeup runway event, featuring hair and makeup styles from 6 global destinations by Kohler Academy students and alumni. The benefit show for PCH also includes a select group of PCH NICU nurses for a night of play. This year’s event introduced the “Kids Zone” with children connected to Kohler Academy students and staff as special models. I LOVED IT!! The kids were soo adorable and each had their own positive message to share.
Enjoy the pics. Enjoy the fun. Enjoy the positive and inspiring messages from the Kid Zone participants. And enjoy your week!
