stitchconnect

Martin Perez is “stitching” the community together, by telling stories of blessings, love, angels and faith through his inspirational t-shirt line, Stitch Connect.

Martin Perez, owner of Stitch Connect

I love Martin’s story as well as his sweet nature. He started experimenting in high school making his own t-shirts with bleach and iron-ons. Soon he was selling his creations out of his house in Farmington, New Mexico. After high school and starting the Stitch Connect label, Martin moved to Arizona to attend the Art Institute of Phoenix’s Fashion Design program to further his fashion knowledge and career. There he met local fashion designer Angela Johnson and was part of Angela’s popular LabelHorde Fashion Ball for 2005 & 2006.

For such a young man, Martin has a big heart and big passion for creating high quality t-shirts that tell a unique story with positive messages and love.  Martin told me when he made the conscious decision to start “designing with meaning” opportunities and inspirations popped up for him! Love that! Here are a couple of my favorite designs and Martin’s notes about each one…

Ray of Sunshine - Men

Ray of SC - Men

The Ray of SC design was inspired by a painting in a church. I saw Stitch Connect as a beacon of all brands, the brightest star in the sky. I want people to follow the brand to be inspired by the designs.

Blessed - Women's

The Blessed design was inspired by my friend’s tattoos. They both have a similar tattoo with the same word “blessed”. I starting thinking about my life and how blessed I am with the opportunities, friends and family that surrounded me.

Stitch Connect uses high quality t-shirts from a well-known manufacturer (he swore me to secrecy!) using discharge ink and other high-quality processes to ensure a quality product.  Shirts are printed locally under the careful inspection of Martin himself.  Stitch Connect uses black, white and grey base-color t-shirts and only produces a small run of each design – so once they’re gone, they’re gone!! Shirts are available for men and women and start at $26.  Buy online at www.stitchconnect.com or at local retailers including High Maintenance Boutique (Glendale) and Studio 15 (Scottsdale).
